Substance Use Disorder
Substance use disorders are chronic, progressive, and
treatable conditions. If you are seeking assistance, rest assured that you are
not alone; we are here to support you.
These disorders can present in various forms, including the
misuse of illegal substances such as alcohol, cocaine, heroin, and
methamphetamines, as well as dependence on prescription medications, including
opioids (such as pain relievers like OXYCONTIN®), mood-altering drugs (such as
barbiturates and anxiety medications like VALIUM®), and sleep aids (such as
AMBIEN®). Additionally, some individuals may contend with dependency on
prescribed medications for sleep or depression.
Conquering drug addiction is a significant challenge that
requires a sustained commitment to the recovery process. Although Heritage
Treatment Link is not a detox center, we have established partnerships with
local detox facilities and provide support for individuals experiencing
withdrawal or those seeking treatment after this phase. It is crucial to
understand that simply stopping drug use is not enough; one must also break the
cycle that perpetuates substance use and abuse.
The objective of treatment is to examine the beliefs and
behaviors that contribute to drug use, empowering individuals to regain control
over these patterns and build the fulfilling life
they aspire to lead.
