Introduction

Heritage Treatment Link provides substance use treatment utilizing a “harm reduction” model developed to meet the needs of a multicultural community including people from the Native American, African-American, East African, Asian, Latino and other communities from across the Twin Cities and the State of Minnesota.

The program respects the culture of each participant in the program and addresses unique individual strengths and needs, looking at the whole person. This may include existing supports provided by family, friends, as well as other valued relationships and supports. Physical, cognitive, and emotional/behavioral needs as well as educational, housing and employment issues are also addressed.

We also ask about hopes and dreams for the future. We work with all parties and professionals involved in the lives of the people we serve including probation officers, case managers, mental health providers, and medical providers. We also partner with programs which provide helpful services beyond those we provide. Our focus is to look at the whole individual, their culture, their faith, their experiences, their challenges, their successes, and their dreams.
